First off, great work on the Project tools! Must be the best SMF module out there.

Now, to the suggestions. I think that future versions of SMF Project Tools should have:

Status request:
For bigger development teams using the Project tools, a feature allowing the admins to send a "bump" email with questions on the status on the selected issue would be awesome. This or the ability to auto-subscribe people who are assigned to issues.
Subcategories:
If you have alot of issues, the ability to use subcategories within the normal categories would be awesome.
Custom status:
Each project should be able to have different status for the issues, to support the different types of projects that are using SMF Project tools.
Hidden updates:
Would help if it would be possible to hide, but not delete, certain messages in issues. For example the "Issue updated by *username*" posts can take alot of room at times, when they shouldn't show up at all.
Mini-gallery:
Being able to upload pictures, and organizing them after the amount of progress in them would be awesome, for the projects that require image updates on the issues to be posted regularly.
[/list]

I hope my suggestions will come to good use, and once again, great work on the project!

Thanks for ideas.

Custom status
This is planned feature.

Status request
Good idea. At least notifying by default when assigned will be added.
I suppose "send reminder" button wouldn't be too hard to add.

Subcategories
This is not very hard and doesn't affect those who don't need this so I don't have reason not to add this.

Hidden updates
This will be added in future. (Feature to filter replies: Changes only, comment only, etc...)

Mini-gallery
Something like screenshots page?

I was browsing through Mantis and the idea came to me: Being able to view resolved issues by a certain person.

I personally find Mantis hard to go through. Information about a certain issue is either hidden, or not there at all. I'm hoping that PT will shine where Mantis has not (and from the looks of it, it is).

Also, i'm not sure if this is already in there but how about adding "Patched" as a status to a issue? Reason being, resolved seems like a seemless fix into the system for a future release, while a patch just seems like a bandaid for a lack of a better solution to an issue.

For the Roadmap, in order to have better project management, what about being able to add Guideposts when you click on a project. For example, if you click on a project titled Project 2.0 you'd be able to see a list of objectives to be completed by a certain day until the planned release of a project. Then you'd be able to go in and mark off objectives as they are completed. Just one of the few crazy ideas that I have.

Oh, and the ability to see only bugs of a certain status. So that way if you want to see only bugs that have been confirmed, or all of the bugs that are new, you can see those in their own page without having to also see bugs of another status on the same page. This can be done beautifully on the color key at the bottom of the tracker. By clicking on the color/status you want you can be directed to a page of just those issues.

Hope it gives you ideas about future features, Niko! And thanks for building such a great system. :)
